At Pashupati, we believe in creating a responsible supply chain mechanism. We aim to encompass our motto of FARM to FABRIC in the principles of sustainability. The group strives to grow and process the best quality of cotton by adopting best practices and adhering to necessary standards so that cotton is grown in a sustainable manner.
Environmentally sustainable practices such as soil conservation, sustainable natural resource management and biodiversity protection, are essential for responsible development.
We believe sustainability is not only limited to environment but is extended to creation of value in terms of food security, rural employment, and improvement in quality of life.
Our aim is to provide our customers with the best quality cotton cloth at an economic range and to ensure that we create the best range of services by taking cotton from “Farm to Fabric”.
Pashupati is associated with farmers and producer organizations in order to increase and improve the production of sustainable cotton and also aims to provide requisite training to farmers.
We are actively involved with research organizations in order to understand and adopt newer techniques of farming.
We believe in working by adhering to the national and international standards to maintain quality to ensure soil fertility and water conservation.
We believe in sourcing sustainable and imperishable cotton from the farms to produce sustainable fabric and for the same, we are a part of global initiatives and follow the guidelines of farmer oriented programs like Better Cotton Initiative, Primark Sustainable Cotton Program (PSCP), Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and Regenerative organic agriculture.
Indian agriculture and allied activities have witnessed a green revolution, a white revolution, a yellow revolution and a blue revolution but as every coin has two sides, along with growth, these has created certain challenges for the farmers. Indian agriculture largely comprises of small and marginal farmers with average land holdings size of less than 1.1 hectare. These small and marginal farmers constituting more than 86% of the total land holdings are facing tremendous challenges both in production and post - production scenarios.
Hence, collectivization of such producers through formation of FPOs is very important to address such challenges & enhance their incomes. To solve that problem Government of India formulated a Central Sector Scheme (CSS) viz., “10,000 Farmer Producer organizations - Formation and Promotion”. The Scheme has been launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister on 29/02/20 at Chitrakoot (UP). Formation & Promotion of FPOs are to be done through Implementing Agencies (IAs), which further engage Cluster Based Business Organizations (CBBOs) to form & provide professional handholding support to FPOs for a period of 5 years. In short CBBOs are key building blocks in the scheme & the platform for an end to end knowledge for all issues in FPO promotion.
Pashupati Cotspin Ltd has been empanelled as CBBO during 2022-23 by Small Farmer Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC- "Society promoted by Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India").
It is a professional organization that engaged to function at the block level for formation and nurturing of FPOs. It performs all the functions related to formation, incubation and development of FPO i.e., Cluster identification, Baseline survey, Farmer mobilization, Registration of FPOs, Training and capacity building of FPO and their members, Business planning and execution for FPO, incubation and handholding, reporting and data collection and many others.
Therefore our implementation team works closely with our grassroot our supply mechanism from basic farming which eventually ends till cotton harvest is transformed to fabric.
